Vacancy – Operations Worker

The Spirit of North Tyneside Community Hub is brand new centre based in Wallsend that will bring together
charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and social enterprises with the purpose of ensuring
that the people of North Tyneside will continue to have access to the very best services that the voluntary
sector can offer. Your role will be to support the day-to-day operations of the Hub by helping to make it a
warm, friendly and welcoming environment where people can work for the common good.

You will manage a small team of volunteers who, alongside VODA staff, will provide a range of services to
individuals and groups that need advice, help and direction to deliver their services. You will co-ordinate a
vibrant programme of community events in the Hub such as networking sessions and Meet the Funder
events, and work with our Training Officer to ensure that participants in our training sessions and
workshops have access to all the facilities they require. You will quickly develop the knowledge and skills to
ensure that the Hub runs smoothly and efficiently, and become the ‘go-to’ person when staff and visitors
need help.

To assure its success, this new and innovative approach to Third Sector support and delivery requires tried
and tested as well as novel methods. You should have both the confidence to experiment and the
resilience to learn from and build on minor set-backs.

Salary: £24,792 per annum for 37 hours/wk (FTE 1.0). Fixed term post of two years available for immediate start.

Closing date for completed applications: Tuesday, 19 April 2022 at noon.

Interview date: Tuesday, 26 April 2022
