Fiver fridaysEvery Friday you can hire a co-working desk at the Spirit of North Tyneside Hub in Wallsend for only £5 (usually £12.50).

This is a great opportunity for local voluntary and community organisations and groups to try out this vibrant hub space for a discounted price.

The Spirit of North Tyneside is a dynamic community sector hub and centre of excellence for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in North Tyneside. 

In recognition of the vital role that VCSE sector organisations play in our communities, highlighted during the COVID19 pandemic, this space was christened the ‘Spirit of North Tyneside’ wing of Wallsend Customer First Centre.

Designed to primarily serve small and micro-organisations supporting some of our most socioeconomically disadvantaged residents, the Hub offers modern co-working space, face-to-face and virtual conferencing and training facilities and informal break-out areas.

Hub Services

North Tyneside VODA – the VCSE sector infrastructure support organisation for the borough – is the Hub’s anchor tenant. It also houses the nationally accredited Volunteer Centre for North Tyneside. The aspirational facilities, space and support offered by the Hub seek to:

  • enable the development of new community action activities
  • develop and support new and existing local partnerships and networks
  • build staff and volunteer capacity
  • strengthen governance and leadership

Also available is affordable ‘back-office’ services such as payroll, accountancy and printing. These services, alongside the offer of co-working space, help to reduce running costs for VCSE sector organisations, enabling more investment in the delivery of services that benefit residents.
