Small grants are available for older people living on low incomes. They can only be accessed via a third-party “Referral Agent” (such as a local charity or community organisation). The person must also have no more than £4k in savings and must not have served in the UK Armed Forces.
Grants can be put towards:

Registered charities and not-for-profit organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 and under in the UK can apply for grants of up to £40,000 per year for up to three years to help support their core costs.
